Our Mission

Our collection agency, The Kaplan Group, has been around for over twenty-five years.  Our President, Dean Kaplan, is not your typical debt collector.  He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, successfully negotiated mergers and acquisitions transactions of over $500 million, and held the title of CFO at several early stage and startup technology companies.  He has also traveled extensively to over 40 countries for business and pleasure.  Dean personally collects on all large claims, and he manages all other collectors in the office, thereby overseeing all claims submitted to The Kaplan Group.  For every claim received, a custom collection strategy is developed, leading to our outstanding 85% success rateon large viable claims.

We work on a contingency basis, which means that our clients don’t pay until we collect.  Our many satisfied clients have honored us with lots of 5 star online ratings as well as an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.  We collect throughout the USA, so whether your debtor is in Oklahoma City or anywhere else nationwide, we are the right agency for you.  Once you turn the claim over to us, we take it from there so you can turn your attention to other priorities.

Our collectors are carefully selected and are the best out there.  Every collector must have at least 10 years of debt collection experience.  The reason we can offer competitive contingency rates is because we are consistently successful at collecting what is owed to our clients.  Claims are submitted on our secure easy to use website, and we begin collecting within one business day of when we have all the information we need.  We regularly provide status reports to our clients and a live person will always be available to talk to you if you have questions.

Within the credit industry, Dean is considered an authority, and his articles and advice frequently appear in industry publications including Credit Today, InsideARM and Accounts Recovery.  His articles are also featured online at sites including Amex Forum, Groupon, Huffington Post, MyCorporation, AltFi News and Bplans.  If you have problem customers and are ready to get paid, call or email us today to get started, or complete our simple Get a Free Quote form.

Collection Agency Tips for Oklahoma City Businesses

A personal guaranty is a good thing to require from a potential new customer that is requesting credit.  Adding the personal guaranty to your standard credit application is a way to get new customers to sign it as a matter of course.  For existing customers, a way to get a personal guaranty signed is to require it if the customer asks for an increase in credit.  The likelihood of getting a personal guaranty goes way down once a customer has gone delinquent, so the best time to request it is early in the business relationship.  Even if you have the personal guaranty in your credit application, occasionally, an application will be returned with the guaranty unsigned.  If this happens, immediately request that the customer sign the personal guaranty.  Phrase the request something like this: “You are asking us to extend credit and support your company.  We ask your company to support us in return.  A personal guaranty tells us that you are confident that you will be able to pay us what we are owed.  If you are not confident, then we are not confident that we should extend you credit.”
